It’s Labor Day Weekend. First, let’s look at the origin:
It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country. and it is considered the unofficial end of summer in the United States.
So are we honoring the labor movement or celebrating (mourning) the end of summer?
Are you properly celebrating? There are certain things that I automatically connect with Labor Day weekend. How about you?
Yea…all that great stuff is over!
How about going on a road trip for the weekend.
Then if you are near the ocean – it was always the last trip to the beach:For the entire universe.
But after living in Wyoming for almost 6 years, it means Don King Days which includes polo,
blacksmithing contests, and always some rodeo-ing
Then of course it means school is back in session. Happy times for parents, not so much for the kids.I still remember that feeling in the pit of my stomach…..
The weekend must include some kind of grilling.
I gave my kids such wonderful memories
I started out this holiday weekend with a run on the roads! It felt great actually. Just a little over 3 miles – nothing crazy. But I did see a great red sun.
The deer were out running on the roads too.
Then some time in the round pen with the horses (haven’t figured out how to get pics of that yet). And then movie night! We saw Wind River. Really good.
We spotted these adorable guys laying down in the long grass:
Speaking of running, I read this great/funny article on how not to dress when running. For example: Running shirtless in a blizzard.
