4th Of July Weekend And the Work and the Fun

I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  Patient Husband had to work all weekend but we still got a lot done.  This is one sunrise  I saw.

We received a phone call and immediately we found out this weekend was “hay weekend”.  July 3 and 4 and we have to think about winter.

Some bales we were lucky enough to have delivered right to our barn.

And then we got more out of the field (not quite as pleasant).

While we were working, the dogs couldn’t have had more fun.

Even though its a hot, sweaty, itchy, allergy inducing job, there is something very satisfying to have a barn full of good hay.

Unfortunately, I had a serious injury to my wrist.

Our weather on the 4th was perfect.  What a great thing to do on the holiday – fly kites!

I thought there couldn’t be anything more “American”  than going for ice cream cones.   So we headed into town.

Although the fireworks were far away,  we were able to watch from our back patio.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend with friends or family and remembered all of those who made our freedom possible.
