Breaking the Treadmill Boredom

How was your Tuesday?  Are you getting used to Daylight Savings Time?  It has never bothered me but I hear so many people who say it throws them out of whack.

A friend of mine sent me this  ad and I had to share.

The ad reads:

This is Lexi, she’s an 8 week-old German Sheppard, I bought Lexi as a surprise for my wife but it turns out she is allergic to dogs so we are now looking to find her a new home.

She is 39 years old, a beautiful and caring woman who drives, is a great cook and keeps a good house.

I want to share with you something exciting that I have found.  It is called RunSocial.  It is the cure to all those horrible minutes/hours  on the treadmill.  It is free to download on your Ipad, tablet, or phone.  You pick your favorite location from numerous options.  Such as Tuscany, the London marathon, Death Valley,  the Swiss Alps and so many more.

If you select Sequoia Forest, it looks like this when you start

Sequoia National Forest

Sequoia National Forest, California, USA. Looping video and Mixed Reality environment, around 48 mins running at 6 mph/10 km/h.

Length: 4.9 Miles / 7.9 KM

Then as you run, the video takes you through the Forest.  If there are other people also signed into this video it will show them up ahead or passing you etc.  I can’t explain how cool this is!
If you know how to hook your computer/Ipad to a t.v., then you could watch it on a large screen.  I’m not one of those people that has figured that out yet.
I believe there are about 17 different locations.  They all download for free and each one has a free full distance demo.  Then if you want to keep the route, you can buy it.  They are anywhere from $3.00 up.  I tried the one called Smuggler’s Notch, VT. and ended up buying it for $5.99.
What a cheap way to zone out of your gym or garage or wherever you run, and run on trails all over the world!
Speaking of zoning out, I wish I could put this on my t.v. screen when I am trying to fall asleep.  Stare at it for a few seconds.
