Its not always a feel-good workout

I went to bed last night during a storm with the wind and rain coming down like crazy.  I wanted to do my 5 miles early and was pretty sure the storm would be over.  My internet weather channel said the rain would be over at 3 a.m.  Perfect.

The alarm went off at 5 a.m.  One -1/2 to 2  inches of snow on the ground.  May 10th.  Are. You. Kidding. Me?  It was still windy and there were wind warnings out.  So out to the garage I go.  5 miles on the treadmill.  I did everything to make it better.  Had a run on my Ipad – Scotland Highlands, the last few chapters of my audio book which is super exciting, and some tv shows recorded just in case.

I was miserable the last 2 miles.  Not sure why – just was.  Felt like it took me hours.


I read two blogs today.  One was writing how he didn’t feel he should ever write about bad runs.  He believed that it  was not motivating or it didn’t look good that he had bad runs.  HUH?  If I’m going to share my life, you’re gonna hear the bad runs, too.  You can relate more if I’m not perfect, right?

Then I read another blog and she was describing her 11 miles – ELEVEN MILES – that she just ran on the treadmill and the incredible workout it was.  You know speeds of 6 and 7 minute miles, changes in incline,  etc.

Oh well…..

what cost


Around lunch time we decided to head up to Billings to do some shopping and it appeared the snow was gone and wind had calmed down.  About 45 minutes out of town, the wind and then the snow started.  Back home we came.

The pups are so used to riding in the car now, they just lay down and go to sleep.  Jake was very bored.



And now, do you ever feel like you’re trying to get your point across but no one is listening?
