Labor Day Weekend with No Labor in Sight

Not much happened yesterday at this old place – not much, unless you count sleep as something.   Serious sleeping.    PHD sleeping .

Then this morning, I got up to this sunrise!

I have been detached from my IV leash.  Yay freedom!  PH changes the bandages daily.  We have a lot materials.

It was somewhat cloudy and cooler than normal, but we got to see a few of these go overhead.

We went for a ride all over today and I got a picture of this big guy..  Yes he is real.  But I was behind a chain link fence.

I saw a big improvement of my hands from Thursday to Friday and then even more today.  My right hand has full movement already and all we have to do is keep the two stitch areas covered.

My left hand is still pretty swollen.  My pinkie is covered but the other 3 fingers resemble sausages.

Well actually the back of my hand and palm are all very swollen.  The pain is still hanging in there…….  I am getting better – I can dress (no button though) and hey  I took a shower!  Well if you count taking a shower with both hands in a bag.

The dogs are very happy to have me here all day.  Jake has learned or is learning how to catch tennis balls in his mouth.  So he and Gus are playing hard.

I have finished one book; “Night” by Elie Wiesel.  This book is unbelievableand hard to put down.

Also finished an audio book:  “Me before You” by Jojo Moyes.  Excellent.  I haven’t seen the movie but the book is good.

This evening our friends/neighbors, Jayne and Hal, brought over a home cooked meal to us:

Amazing, huh?  Chicken cassoulet, french bread, and even a fruit dessert.   SOOOOO good.  Thanks Jayne!

I hope you all have a fun Monday off of work and to all my fellow emergency workers, be safe.

One step at a time,
