Odds and Ends, This and That

Today was a mixture of happenings. This and that and taking care of odds and ends.  First, This:  garbage day.  How can two people produce so much?  At least now we are doing some recycling.

Work was very slow and quiet but we were able to get caught up on a lot of things.  It also gave us time to discuss raising children, housetraining puppies (I need all the help I can get), health, weather and all other global issues.

On my way home I took a picture of the mountains.  THAT is all you could see.  Honest there is a huge mountain range right there.

ODD:  This cat gets on my comforter and goes into a trance….. face pressed into the blanket, massaging with his claws, keeping his eyes closed.  Odd and very weird.

THIS is just 3 of my son’s 24 baby ducklings!  And he thought I was crazy to have two puppies!

I think I need to have a race scheduled in order to give me motivation to get more miles in.  The only one I have registered for so far is the Timpanogos half marathon in Utah on July 30th.  I’m really looking forward to it but it’s too far away, I think.

So now I am looking at the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Half Marathon in Deadwood, South Dakota.  It sounds like a a great course and for the first time I won’t need airline tickets!  Its a 3-1/2 hr. drive from here.  I’m trying to convince some other runners I know to join me because Patient Husband cannot get that weekend off.

Then the last one (probably) for 2016 that I am thinking of is the Las Vegas half marathon.  This looks super cool and I may try to get my daughter and son to meet me there and run with me.  (Hello….Nick and Amanda, this is for you!  I don’t think they read this blog.)  I can’t imagine seeing THIS and not wanting to run it!

All this talk about running and training has made me exhausted.  Apparently everyone else thinks the day has come to an END.

Have a great day!  Happy Birthday Nick!

Does anyone have a favorite race they recommend?

I still have puddles – what am I doing wrong?  Or are they too young?  (10 wks)
