Unlike those of you who had to head back to work this morning, I was lucky to be able to head outside and have some fun. This is called retirement. Anyway the doodles had a 9 a.m. appointment at the groomers. I’m not normally someone who takes dogs to a groomer, but I was informed by our vet that the poodle part of our doodle requires that they get the hair plucked out of their ears. No need to read that again, you read it right the first time. Ugh. I thought it was just old men who had hair in their ears….
I just googled “hairy ears” and I was so grossed out, I couldn’t possibly subject you to that. You’re welcome.
I dropped them off and went to a trail I’ve been meaning to try. Today was supposed to be a rest day but I am changing it up a little so I can run when I’m not working.
This trail actually runs up and down some steep hills and through grazing cow pastures. The entrance:
What you see is some of the only flat trail there. During my 4 mile run I stopped several times
to catch my breath to take pictures because it looks so awesome. But when I got home – no pictures on the camera (????) Apparently my phone couldn’t breathe either. So I stole some pictures to give you an idea of what it looked like.
The challenge was pretty amazing so I’ll probably do this again a lot. With this new interest in ‘trail’ running, I need to find out how important trail running shoes are or if I can continue using the 4 pairs of running shoes I already have!
I still had time to spare, so I stopped at my favorite coffee shop in town and enjoyed a cup while reading a few chapters of my book. Then off to get the pups, er furballs.
They seemed to feel very good and wanted to pose:
Actually, I think Jake is posing and well…..taking care of business.
I saw all these pretty blue pinwheels on the courthouse lawn to spread the word about Child Abuse Prevention month.
PH is watching Star Wars. Am I the only one on earth who dislikes this stupid movie? I mean really, all these creepy monsters – how do they keep a straight face while filming?
Have a great day and keep moving!
