Morphing but I don't think I'll be a butterfly

Updated: Feb 20, 2019

It doesn't take much to cause a weather panic on the Oregon Coast. No, I am not talking floods, tsunami, and other disasters. I'm talking s.n.o.w. Not blizzard, not 6-10 inches. It may cover the grass. Yes. I got notices on my phone, there were pictures of grocery shelves wiped clean and I may have even detected a slight panic in the voice of last night's weatherperson.

Ok, I grew up in upstate NY (shout out to you girls in Vestal!), and lived in Wyoming for 6 years and I may be a little hardened to what should and shouldn't be called a snowstorm. Apparently others are laughing too. This was captioned: "We shall rebuild".

I actually was so surprised to see actual snow that I recorded it too,

We are all confused here - even the spring flowers.

It's Saturday. I haven't been all that busy. I cleaned out my closet. Had to rest after that one. Then I listened to my audiobook till it was finished. I rested during that. I also worked on doing imitations. Today I worked on THE SLUG.

I've got it down pat - well except for the slime part. In fact, they are so gross, I had to use an animated one because I didn't want you to have to look at a real one.

The dogs didn't seem to mind a rest day. That's all they do anyway. Here is Jake and Gus snuggling with another dog.

Luna opted for the couch. What's the deal with the pillow? Someone must have told her it was good for sore hips and back.

And speaking of critters, will someone please identify this for me? A muskrat?

I took my ipad with a downloaded movie to the gym the other day. It was a Netflix crime/detective movie I had never heard of. Save yourself the pain. If you are going to watch something it needs to be fast or funny (or fast AND funny). At least for me, it will be something like Sex and the City, This is Us, Parenthood, Gilmore girls, - you get my drift.

Of course I am very happy to say that the Groundhog has predicted an early spring. I love that groundhog. Then NOAA had to go and make this statement:

In the past decade, Phil has predicted a longer winter seven times and an early spring three times. He was only right about 40% of the time, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which says the groundhog shows "no predictive skill."

They may be the same people that told me about Santa Claus.

I did read a good headline the other day:

The Aloha State's not messing around in the fight against smoking. Hawaii is thinking about banning cigarette sales to anybody younger than 100. :)

And finally a health notice. I have had a hard time these past few years falling asleep. I might fall asleep on the couch or watching t.v. but as soon as I hit the bed - wide.awake. I have been diagnosed with Restless Brain Syndrome. Are you all nodding your head in agreement?

My watch just told me it was time to stand up. Now watches even nag? I'm gonna shock the heck out of it and go to the gym. Wouldn't it be nice if it said "good Job" as many times as it said 'time to stand'?

And for all of you with REAL winter weather, I get it. Honestly.

Hope your weekend is fantastic so far.

One step at a time,
