Paradise........Snorkeling, Hiking and Dreams...
Our second home rental gave us this view from the back patio. Ahhhhhhhh. Need I say more?
I give all the credit to my daughter who did all the research and found these perfect places for us to stay.
Upon investigation, this guy was found just outside our front lawn. The kids got a lesson on what a real rooster sounds like. They got to hear him not just first thing in the morning about ever hour after that throughout the day.
Madeline seems to be saying "If I can just take this without waking her..."

Between the yard and the ocean was solid lava. A hike along it showed some interesting and beautiful designs.
Yes, I actually tried to pick up this 'egg'.
Apparently Lava comes from a lava rock tree.

I think the whole group agreed that the best park/beach/snorkeling area was Richardson Ocean Park. Doesn't sound very Hawaiian, does it? Ok, well it is on Kalanianaole Street, does that help?
My first time on a black sand beach.
The park was filled with lots of lagoons like this.
The snorkeling was great and the water was sooo warm. I could snorkel all day.....
A trip to Ka Lae (or South Point) was made. It is the southern most point of the United States. Now if you are about to say you thought Key West had that distinction, Key West is for the contiguous states)
And of course there was a platform to jump off the cliffside....... It was a l-o-o-o-n-g way down. My son, Nick, was the only one brave enough to actually jump. He was actually the only one who even considered it.
A part of the volcano national park is a visit to the lava tubes.
Gotta have one more sunset.....
Once I was home, a visit and ride on Durango was needed.
And now back to 'post-paradise'.......cleaning, laundry, yardwork, paying bills.....
